Title: Recent research and applications of aluminum structures in China


Bio:

Prof. Zhang is the director of Spatial Structures Research Division, College of Civil Engineering, Tongji University. He is currently the vice director of Spatial Structures Branch, China Steel Construction Society (CSCS), and the vice director of Spatial Structure Committee, China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization (CECS). His main research fields include cable and membrane structures, steel and aluminum structures, and structural health monitoring techniques. He is the chief editor of Chinese national technical standard for aluminum structures, Shanghai local technical standard for cable and membrane structures, and Shanghai local technical standard for structural health monitoring on engineering structures. The research achievements have been successfully applied in many important engineering projects, such as Expo Axis of 2010 Shanghai Expo, Shanghai Tower, etc. Prof. Zhang has published more than 200 papers and 7 books.
