Bio:
Koichi Nakatsuka is the vice president of JSCA- Japan Structural Consultant Association- since 2023. He is also working for Obayashi Corporation as the senior general manager of the structural design department after graduating from the master's course at Osaka University. He is the chief examiner of the Working Group of JSSI-the Japan Society of Seismic Isolation - and has extensive knowledge of seismic isolation structures.
As a structural engineer, he mainly designs high-rise buildings with vibration-control structures and buildings with seismic isolation structures. His major works include the Lazona Kawasaki Toshiba Building, the DIC Building, and numerous data centers with seismic isolation structures, as well as high-rise buildings such as Otemachi Place East Tower and Urbannet Uchisaiwai-cho Building The Blossom Hibiya Tokyo.
Notable awards he has received include the Young Engineer Award from the Architectural Association of Japan and the CFT Structural Award from the Association of New Urban Housing Technology.
